Embroidered by hand on a domestic sewing machine.  The technique is called free motion embroidery.  The process is unique.  The design is sewn onto water soluble fabric.  When the design is complete, the piece is placed into water, dissolving the fabric, leaving behind only the thread.  After the piece is dried, it is mounted using a special floating technique that adds depth and shadow.  

The piece is 12 inches by 12 inches and framed in a white shadowbox measuring 13 inches by 13 inches, ready to hang.
